About Sally
I am a newly qualified Modern Languages teacher, specialising in French and German with experience teaching Spanish, having completed my Secondary Education PGCE at the University of Hertfordshire with a Commendation. I have taught French and German across KS3 and KS4 during my school placements, alongside Spanish at KS3, and bring an extensive previous career in language education and leadership.
I am particularly skilled at adapting teaching for mixed-ability classes, creating differentiated resources that provide appropriate challenge for higher-attaining pupils while giving SEND and nurture-group pupils the scaffolding they need to succeed. My approach combines strong relationships with consistent and fair behaviour management. My previous senior leadership experience has also given me considerable expertise in safeguarding, pastoral care, curriculum development and staff development.
Most recently, I completed trainee teacher placements at The Nobel School and The Priory School during the 2025–26 academic year. Before retraining as a secondary teacher, I spent 20 years at Brunel University London, including as Director and Academic Director of its Language Centre, with responsibility for language provision, student welfare, safeguarding, finance and operations.
